Every sentence is about a different person...and you shouldn't lose too much sleep over trying to figure out who each one is about. You would never really be able to. And I don't intend on saying anything about any of them. XD

i haven't talked to you in a while, and i feel really guilty about it.

The Very Expensive Summer

today begins The Very Expensive Summer (c).

in my shop, which is my job, i have sent around 1400 packages in the past year - by myself. the only help i ever got was when soshi would write the return address on some envelopes.

i have saved almost all of that money. and now, it is time to say goodbye.

...which is a lie, since the most expensive items on my summer agenda ive been slowly paying off for many many months.

Part 1 of TVES:
well, today i can start to really feel what ive earned... goodbye, my companion for the past 2.5 years. goodbye. you survived about 5 blue screens of death, and 3 instances of being soaked with water. youve been dropped and taken across the pacific. youve had chocolate sauce dripped into your keys.

for today, i bought a new laptop, with the advice and help of my little sister and my dad. uh... make that so much advice, i dont even know exactly what im getting. i just kind of said "yeah yeah just get me whatever and take it from my savings." i think its red, with a 17 inch screen (holy shit??? huge??? argh), windows peesta, and something like 6 gazillion GB of space. and memory. moar memory.

Part 2 of TVES:
tomorrow pyon and i venture once again into lawyerland. its been almost a year since that fateful day when my livejournal friends list raised thousands of dollars to help me pay my legal fees (PS: uhhh... i owe you guys another LJ People Project ASAP). well, this year we're shooting for the 4 year visa, but as the hard part is over (changing my visa from temporary to permanent and fighting for that to happen is what caused such incredible expenses), it wont cost AS much (its only a renewal), and should be fine.

but....

i'm still scared shitless.

and it's still a lot of money.

so wish me luck!

on top of the lawyer and computer, i've almost finished paying off otakon (just gotta pay off the hotel and my cosplay now), and i've finished paying off my and pyon's plane tickets (paid for them both meself yep yep) and i've finished paying off another expensive ...thing... while in america i'm not prepared to post about yet.

thanks to my family and friends and most especially MY CUSTOMERS, i've managed to plan a summer that makes up for the summer immigration and visa problems ruined last year. i'm really excited for august. i cannot wait to see everyone in PA, my family and friends, and everyone at otakon.

this will also be my first trans continental, 14 hour long flight, 24 hour long total travel time, that i am doing with someone else! wow... i like, dont need to pack an extra bag to keep myself entertained! i dont need to pack a pillow for the plane! i have a buddy!! this is like, amazing! someone to talk to besides the random person next to me! yay!

i'm trying to get my hands on some japanese DVDs of SP to bring home for tofu before we see yamaguchi kappei at otakon. also, i need someone to take care of pyon while i wait in like for 5 hours, because pyon won't want. ahahaha.

anyway yeah. here is japanese south park. a REALLY good dub. with yamaguchi kappei as kyle!

I have six neighborhoods, all custom except for Strangetown (though one is a blank Pleasantview template). I loaded up the game and went to play and two of my neighborhoods are gone. D: The custom Pleasantview and Strangetown. The files are still there in the EA Games folder, they just don't show up on the selection screen.

I searched the memories and Google a bit, and I see other people with the same problem but no solution in sight.

It's not custom content. I haven't played or modified either neighborhood recently. My power went out while I was playing the time before they disappeared - could the improper shutdown have had something to do with it? I reloaded twice and they're still gone. Also, could it be a numbering problem? I have N001, N002, then in jumps to N004? N001 and N002 are the ones that disappeared.

I want my neighborhoods back! D: Help!

*my group presented our video today, which used a hatsune miku song that pyon wrote. after lots of praise...*

someone: /did you get copyright for the music?/

me: /my boyfriend wrote it, we have the right to use it from him./

teacher: /ah, thats good./ *turns to repeat loudly to the chattering class that my friend made the song... japanese always tend to switch boyfriend to friend, im not QUITE sure why yet...* .../but did you get the permission of the singer?/

me: /shes not a person, shes a digital idol named hatsune miku. shes just digital sound./

*class is silent now*

teacher: /yes, but you need permission of the person performing./

me: /ma'am, shes not a person. shes just digital sound. my boyfriend owns the program and he created this all by himself using various software, including the hatsune miku software./

teacher: /you really need to get permission of the software maker since someones voice is being used./

me: /ma'am, he owns the software, which has no actual human singing, only digital sound made to sound like a girl singing. that program is paid for, and he uses about four programs to make these songs, sometimes five or six. most songs you hear on the radio or cds took over fifteen different programs and various software to make, but you dont see a list of all that on the cd, right?/

teacher: /......Yeah but, hatsune miku is a program a company made, if you use it to make a song-/

me: /ma'am, if i draw a picture in microsoft paint, do i need to give them credit for my drawing?/

teacher: /no..... ........ oh./

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
